Seeing The Hand of God

What does it take for us to SEE God’s hand in our life?

A miracle? A physical gift? An answer however and whenever we want it?

Sometimes those things can be the manifestations of God in our lives. But those kinds of manifestations are typically few and far between.

It’s more common to find evidence of God in the little things of our life; in the quiet, mundane, everyday kinds of happenings.

It’s up to us to seek out these evidences and write them down, record them so that we don’t forget them and so that our children and their children won’t forget them.

President Henry B. Eyring once said:

I wrote down a few lines every day for years. I never missed a day no matter how tired I was or how early I would have to start the next day. Before I would write, I would ponder this question: “Have I seen the hand of God reaching out to touch us or our children or our family today?’ As I kept at it, something began to happen. As I would cast my mind over the day, I would see evidence of what God had done for one of us that I had not recognized in the busy moments of the day. As that happened, and it happened often, I realized that trying to remember had allowed God to show me what He had done.”

We’ve found some episodes from the Our Turtle House App that we believe will help you as you learn to see the hand of God in your life. Click on the picture below to open each episode directly in your Our Turtle House App.

Though we know God's love is there all the time, sometimes it takes a lot of effort to feel it, especially when life has been hard. (Feeling the Love of God, Kevin Clayson, Digital Firesides)
If you’ve ever had a garden, you know how amazing it is to watch those plants grow from little seeds to fruit (and vegetable!) bearing plants. But in order to see that growth, you (as the gardener) have to make sure your plants get enough sun and water! In this new Turtle Talk, Meg Johnson shares how our lives are like a garden. And our Heavenly Father is The Master Gardener, who helps us get the “water and Son” we need so we can eventually be “pruned to perfection.” (The Master Gardener, Meg Johnson, Turtle Talk)
Having a hard time seeing God's hand in your life? Take the time to write things down! (See the Hand of God, Jason Harwood, Digital Firesides)
